Scarlet Begonia Vintage: Quick Post: Trend I Love Right Now

When I was little we lived next door to an older couple that made jewelry and were self-proclaimed "rock hounds". They had a pile of discarded rocks and crystals next to their barn that I loved to explore. I would spend my time looking for the "diamond in the rough"- a glittery crystal or broken geode that I could add to my collection. I loved the look of these beautiful gems!

More recently, my husband and I were in D.C. visiting a friend, and we took a tour of the Smithsonian Institution National Museum of Natural History. I spent most of my time there taking a million pictures of their Hall of Geology, Gems, and Minerals. I love all of the colors, shapes, and thinking about how our earth can produce such amazing creations. Below are a few, of the many, pictures I took while at the museum.

So, yes as you have probably guessed, I am totally in love with anything that has to do with druzy, (crystals on a rock fracture surface) geodes, or shiny minerals. I have recently purchased a necklace, bracelet, and 2 rings.I have been seeing a lot of jewelry inspired by this trend lately, so I wanted to share some of my favorites.
